Quote Generation
Renewal quotes are generated automatically or on demand.
Methods of quote generation
Renewal quotes are generated in the following methods:
- On-demand batch process
- Quotes are generated according to previously defined rules, renewal terms, and a manually specified date range. The user who initiated the process is listed in the activity log.
- Scheduled batch process
- Quotes are generated according to previously defined rules, renewal terms, and the current date system. The schedule process is defined in the Process Schedules feature of the Administration module. The scheduler who listed the process is listed in the activity log.
- Cotermination
- Quotes are generated when multiple contracts with different term end dates within lines are coterminated. The user who coterminates the lines is listed in the activity log.
Renewal lines
If a sales agreement contains lines that are within a specific date range, the lines are combined into a single renewal quote. If the lines have different end dates in their terms, the renewal quote contains different term start and end dates for the lines.
The new terms in the quote become active when the original active terms expire.
Notifications
Notifications are sent when the quote generation process is run. Notifications are sent based on the quote generation rules and notification rules.
Status of the new quote
A newly generated quote is displayed in the My Tasks and My Contracts portals for the internal contacts that are specified in the quote. The status of the new quote is Draft and the substatus is Drafting.
Contract Creator role
The primary internal contact of the quote gets the Contract Creator role by default.
Relationship
A contract relationship between the new quote and the original contract is created.
