Offline Editing

Offline editing of a contract involves making changes to a checked-out contract in a Word document.

Definition

Offline editing is checking out a contract from the Emptoris Contract Management application, and adding content, modifying existing content, deleting content, making formatting changes, and modifying properties of a contract by using the Word Editor.

Offline editing by internal and external parties

Internal parties can check out a contract and modify it offline.

External parties are presented checked-out files through email presentation for negotiation. They can modify the Word document offline. However, they cannot check in the contract back into Emptoris Contract Management. Only internal party users can check in the contract.

Users can modify the content only if they have the appropriate permissions for the components.

Track changes

A contract that is edited offline as a Word document has track changes that are enabled by default.
