Creating snapshot queries

You can use the Snapshot Query editor to specify search criteria and search the repository for snapshots. Additionally, you can save the search query.

Procedure

  1. In the Team Artifacts view, expand the project area.
  2. Right-click Source Control and click New > Snapshot Query.
    Note: Alternatively, in the Team Artifacts view, right-click My Source Control and click New > Snapshot Query to create a snapshot query.
  3. In the query editor, in the Name field, enter a name for the query.
  4. In the Search Criteria area, specify the repository, name or pattern, or owner of the snapshot to search for.
  5. Optional: In the Filter by Custom Attribute area, specify a custom attribute and a value.
  6. On the Details tab, enter a description and specify the owner and visibility for the query.
  7. To save the query, click Save.
  8. To run the query, click Run.

Results

If you click Run, search results are displayed in the Search view. If you click Save, the query is stored in the Source Control folder.
Note: If you right-click My Source Control to create a query, the query is stored in the My Source Control folder.

What to do next

In the Team Artifacts view, you can right-click the saved query to run, duplicate, rename, or delete the query. To organize your queries, right-click My Source Control and click New > Folder to create a new folder in the Team Artifacts view and move your saved queries to it.
