Setting up Enterprise Extensions builds

Extra templates are available for builds that run on enterprise operating systems like z/OS® and IBM® i.

About this task

The procedure for setting up enterprise builds is similar to setting up other Engineering Workflow Management Builds, but there are extra build template choices. Some choices require an IBM Enterprise Platforms client access license (CAL).

Procedure

  • Create or obtain a build script or one is automatically generated.
  • Create a build definition that identifies a command that starts the build script.
    You have the option of using these build templates:
    • IBM i Dependency Build - Rational® Build Agent (Requires Developer for IBM Enterprise Platforms CAL)
    • z/OS Dependency Build - Rational Build Agent (Requires Developer for IBM Enterprise Platforms CAL)
    • Ant - Jazz® Build Engine
    • Ant with Enterprise Extensions - Rational Build Agent (Requires Developer for IBM Enterprise Platforms CAL)
    • Command Line - Jazz Build Engine
    • Command Line - Rational Build Agent
      Note: Use this template to submit JCL to JES. For more information, see Submitting JCL inside the build command.
    • IBM i Command - Jazz Build Engine
    • IBM i Continuous Load - Jazz Build Engine
    • IBM i Build Specification - Rational Build Agent (Deprecated) (Requires Developer for IBM Enterprise Platforms CAL)

Results

After you set up a build, you can request a build, examine the results, and explore the build user interface.
