Welcome to the IBM Watson Career Coach Trial

Welcome to the Watson Career Coach Trial. The Watson Career Coach Trial delivers an engaging, conversational way for your employees to get answers to their career-related questions, receive tailored job recommendations, and discover new career paths within your organization. Watson Career Coach uses Watson Conversation for natural language processing and Watson's machine learning processes to guide employees along their career paths.

How does Myca get to know your employees?
Myca gets to know your employees through their conversations and by accessing each employee's profile. Myca also encourages employees to enrich their profiles by uploading resumes and sharing any other related work or educational experience that might be helpful for job and career matching. Employees can validate their existing skills and add new skills. As each employee profile grows, so does Myca's understanding.

The main components of the Watson Career Coach Experience are:

Myca (My Personal Career Advisor)
Myca chats with your employees and answers their career-related questions with answers specific to your organization.

Who is Myca?

Meet Myca! Myca is our cognitive career advisor, and the personality, and the heart and soul behind Watson Career Coach.

Myca is an engaging, enthusiastic coach who genuinely cares about helping your employees understand and meet their career goals.

Myca comes with an initial set of responses to your employees' questions. You can add and edit these responses to tailor them to your organization. You are the voice of Myca when she answers your employees career-related questions.

Employee Profile
When a trial user selects their current job role, their profile is populated with the skills data that is associated with that role. The trial user can validate any skills that are associated with their current role and add additional skills that they believe that they have. Myca maps your employees' roles to corresponding roles in the Talent Frameworks database. Myca then uses the Talent Frameworks database to calculate employee job matches and career paths. To help you get started, Watson Career Coach provides a subset of jobs and skills from Talent Frameworks known as the Corporate Function and IT jobs. Employees are encouraged to provide a full resume/CV and any other related experiences they would like considered in the job matching process. The Employee Profile is a one-stop shop for employees to keep their information up-to-date to ensure they receive the best possible career path recommendations from Myca. As each employee profile grows, so does Myca's understanding of who your employees are. The more Myca knows your employees, the better the job opportunity match she can find for your employees.
Note: Because there is no historical data upload for jobs in the Watson Career Coach Trial, an alternative method is used to provide data that is related to an employee's skills. In place of providing 3 to 5 years of historical data, we estimate moves your employees have made based on skill overlap and available market data and use IBM Talent Frameworks jobs and skills content for any equivalent job in your organization.
Job Recommendations
Watson Career Coach identifies existing job opportunities and potential career moves within your organization for any employee by comparing the employee's profile information to your open job requisitions.
Career Navigator
Watson Career Coach guides employees along potential career paths based on the estimated career progression of other employees as well as individual employee information stored in each employee profile.
