Support lifecycle policy
Cloud Pak for Business Automation uses a continuous delivery support model to provide new functions and enhancements more frequently, along with security updates and defect fixes.
Cloud Pak for Business Automation uses a
numbering scheme that helps you to identify the age of your installed version. Instead of a
traditional numbering scheme that starts at 1.0 and then increases to identify the
order of the releases, the version number starts with the year it is available in. The 1st digit in
a version.release.modification.fix is the number of years since 2000, so the digit 25
is used for versions available in 2025. 25.0.1 is a modification
of 25.0.0. The 4th digit, when needed, is the interim fix (IF00x) for that
release or modification. For more information, see Product
lifecycle
.
Cloud Pak for Business Automation
25.0.1 is a
Limited Support Release and does not reset the support lifecycle of the previous
versions. The support lifecycle of Cloud Pak for Business Automation 25.0.0 has a
Continuous Delivery support policy, whereas 24.0.0 has a Support Cycle-3
(SC-3) policy. For more information, see Support Lifecycle Policies
.
Cloud Pak for Business Automation 25.0.1 is intended for continued discovery of your business automation journey, including the move towards agent-driven automation. You can install a new CP4BA 25.0.1 deployment to experience the most up-to-date improvements in operations and a reduction in its footprint. However, you cannot upgrade a deployment from 25.0.0 to 25.0.1.
Support is provided for 25.0.1 until the following dates:
- 6 months of proactive interim fixes, which ends in June 2026.
- 6 months of reactive interim fixes after the proactive support ends. The reactive support ends in December 2026.
- Usage and known defect support, which ends in September 2027.
