Installing with the automation configuration container

IBM Business Automation Configuration Container is used to install one or more products from IBM Cloud Pak for Automation on IBM Cloud Private.

About this task

Installing several products in a single release is possible when you use the Business Automation Configuration Container. It also gives you the possibility to share some common resources between the products, like Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and database configurations.

To use the configuration tool for your container deployments, you must download an IBM Passport Advantage® archive, load the container images, install the Business Automation Configuration Container Helm chart, and then follow the steps in the user interface.

Business Automation Configuration Container provides the following benefits:

  • Rapid deployment of containers.
  • Options for configuring monitoring and logging.
  • Option for verifying a container deployment.
  • Option for initializing a container deployment.

Each of the product options requires prerequisite steps to prepare the environment and to configure supporting software.
