Connecting to IBM Aspera Shares from the GUI

As of IBM Aspera Shares version 1.9.3, the client must have HSTS, HSTE, or Desktop Client installed in order to access Shares on a server with HSTS, HSTE, or Desktop Client installed.

Procedure

  1. To connect to Shares in the Desktop Client GUI, go to Connections and click .
    Enter the following information:
    Field Value Example
    Host https://host_FQDN https://shares.example.com/
    User Shares username (of user with API Login enabled) shares_user
    Authentication Shares user password X45ape34_1
  2. Click Test Connection to confirm that your client application has successfully connected to Shares.
  3. Click Browse to specify the target directory.
  4. Click OK to save the connection.
