Searching for business objects (Simple Search)

With simple search, you can search for string values across all string-type properties, and you can limit the search by selecting a fraud context or one or more business object types to search.

About this task

You can use the asterisk (*) wildcard character to replace characters in the search term.

The default Simple Search searches for the business object fields in the Default Context fraud context that are listed in the following table.

You can refine the search by setting the filter options to select a fraud context and the business objects in that context.

Procedure

To search for business objects with Simple Search:

  1. Click Hamburger icon Menu in the title bar and then click Business Object Search.
  2. Enter the search criteria in the Search field. You can only search string fields. You cannot search for dates or numeric values. You can use the asterisk (*) wildcard character to replace characters in the search term. The search is case-sensitive.
  3. If you want to limit the search to a specific fraud context or business objects, click Filter.
    1. Select a Fraud context from the list.
    2. Select one or more Business object types from the list. The available business objects depend on the fraud context that you selected.
    3. Click OK.
  4. Click Search. The view is updated with the items that match your search criteria. If no items match, then a message is displayed. By default, results are displayed in the Card view. You can change to another view or filter the types of objects that are displayed.
  5. Optional: Select items and take actions.
    1. Select the Check circle button next to the objects that you want. You can select multiple items in the results, and you can scroll and page through the results to make selections.
      Note: Keep in mind that there might be copies of source-owned business objects in the search results. These copies are identified by the Editable copy icon Editable copy icon.
    2. Click More Actions and select an action from the menu. Some actions display a window for you to complete the action.
  6. To close the Search Business Objects page, click Menu in the title bar and then click In-Baskets.
