Users who are assigned to Supervisor, Investigator, or
Triage Analyst roles can create user-defined business objects for
an investigation. For example, during the process of an investigation,
you might encounter a person who is associated with the investigation,
but who was not mentioned in the original sourced data. In this case,
you might create an Individual business object and pin it to the investigation.
Procedure
To create a business object for a specific investigation:
- From the In-Baskets page, click the row of an investigation.
Note: By default, the Card view is displayed with all associated business objects displayed in the
card containers.
- From the Card view, locate the card that identifies the
business object type where you want to create a business object. For
example, if you want to create a business object for Accounts, find
the Accounts card.
- On the upper right edge of the card, select
More Actions and then click
Create Business
Object. Attention: You cannot
create a business object that is configured as non-creatable in the
business object definition (for example, a Group business object type).
- In the General Information section,
complete required properties, marked with an asterisk (*). Scroll,
if necessary, to add other details that are associated with the business
object. For example, you might want to add an entry for an assessed
value and type.
Notes: - Click the
Create
Entry in the upper right of a section to add an array
entry. You can also click this icon to add a reference to another
business object (Account, Event, Individual, Party, Physical Object,
or Transaction). You can also add a Product reference for an Account
business object. Note that you can only have one object reference.
- To remove an entry and delete the contents of a property, click
Remove Entry.
- Click OK to save your content and
create the business object. The user interface prompts you to complete
any required fields.
Results
A confirmation message is displayed stating that business
object ID x was created successfully. The message
also prompts to pin this new business object to the current investigation.
If you click Yes to pin to the current investigation,
the business object is added to the card with a
User pinned
this item icon. You can also choose not to pin the new
business object to the current investigation. For example, you might
create a copy of a business object with plans to search for its ID
and assign it to another investigation.
