Adding dynamic properties

A dynamic property is anything that might have been discovered during the case that is not already captured in the structure of the case through an existing case property. Capturing this information with a dynamic property highlights the unique aspects of an investigation.

About this task

The Dynamic Properties widget enables users in an investigative role to add properties to the list, modify the values of the properties in the list, or delete properties from the list.

To add dynamic properties:

1. In the Case Summary view, expand Dynamic Properties.
2. Click Add. A row is added to the properties table.
3. Double click in the row to enable edit mode.
4. Add a name, value, and any comments for the new dynamic property.

Results

The new property displays in the table row.
