Catalog entry categories is the primary hierarchy for the
Catalog Entry Repository catalog. It represents the catalog group
structure in WebSphere Commerce. The categories in this hierarchy
represent catalog groups in commerce.
In this structure, Master catalog and Sales catalog are predefined
categories at first level. Business users should not create catalog
groups with the same names. All the user defined categories should
be defined under one of these two categories:
- Master catalog
- This represents the primary group which contains the catalog entries.
There can be only one Master catalog.
- Sales catalog
- This represents the group for some particular sales purpose. There
can be multiple Sales catalogs categories designed for different purposes.
