Release notes - June 2026
Application build: 2.44.48
As IBM Support Insights (IBM SI) continues to evolve, here are the details of the application's current progress.
Fixed issues and upgrades
Following is a list of improvements and new implementations in the application.
Call Home improvements
- The Call Home widget on the main Inventory management page of the application has been modified to now give you an overview of your devices' most recent contact and contract status.
- The Call Home data in Support Insights is further enriched with the introduction of two new data points in the Asset details summary table of the Inventory management page - Last event (i.e. proactive support case logged) and Last contact.
Case metrics enrichment
- The Case volume graph can now be visually filtered to display either Open, Created, or Closed or Canceled cases using the designated selector located immediately before the graph, allowing you to focus on the particular set of support cases that interests you the most.
- The Case analysis tab is now enriched with the introduction of a whole new sub-tab, namely the Created cases sub-tab, giving you a detailed view of your newly opened support cases for the specified time-frame. (Pro only)
- The Case view dropdown is now expanded with the introduction of the SWXcel option - available only to SoftwareXcel clients.
- SWXcel support cases can now also display the customer case owner, ensuring a clearer support responsibility chain.
- SoftwareXcel clients can also access a dedicated IBM Link applications usage view, using the left-hand side application navigation, providing them with an overview of consumption statistics, facilitating a smoother decision-making process.
Risk and recommendations expansion
- The OS/Firmware risk group is now further broken down with the addition of a new sub-category, name the HIPERs category, giving you a dedicated priority view of your pervasive alerts.
- The Affected inventory tab of the HIPERs sub-category is further augmented with the introduction of additional data points, such as the Reference URL (APAR) and Link to fixes. (Pro only)
- The Recommendations tab of the HIPERs sub-category contains not only fix suggestions, but also direct links for references, update version and - most importantly - direct fix download links. (Pro only)
-
You can now also directly see what HIPER alerts impact a particular single asset directly in its dedicated Asset details page.
Note: HIPERs are limited to Power running AIX and VIOS currently, and assets must be call home enabled
General updates
- The Support Insights AI assistant is now accessible using a dedicated header button, eliminating loading times and visual pop-ups - simply click the designated AI button on the right-hand side of the application's header and begin your assistant conversation.
- You can now have a full-screen view of your AI chat, providing you with a more focused conversation view and space for longer assistant replies.
- The full-screen view of your AI chat is further augmented and also includes a set of pre-loaded questions to choose from, located in a panel on the left-hand side of the conversation view.
Known issues and limitations
Following is a brief outline of usability constraints or challenges in the current version of the application.
| Area | Issue | Workaround |
|---|---|---|
| Inventory management - General | The values in the Uncovered section of the Hardware coverage widget could contain duplicates. | To be fixed in a future release.
As a temporary workaround, you can export the data and have the duplicated values removed based on the devices' serial number. |
| Inventory management - General | The values in the Vendor recommended OS versions column are not searchable while in View services table mode. | To be fixed in a future release. |
| Risks & Recommendations - General | Some OS/Firmware alerts might be missing if multiple data collection methods are used. | To be fixed in a future release. |
