Release notes - January 2024
Application build: 2.16.20
As IBM Support Insights continues to evolve, here are the details of the application's current progress.
Fixed issues and upgrades
Following is a list of improvements and new implementations in the application.
Online Maintenance Management (OMM) migration
- The OMM application migration and integration into SI is finalized upon the former's sunset in the end of January 2024.
- Inventory change requests now go through an approval claim process - an approver needs to claim an existing request before approving it. This newly introduced step brings an extra layer of traceability in request processing.
- All users with an admin level of access, including IBMers, can submit change requests.
- The possible change request options are all displayed in the Request changes dropdown, where the non-actionable ones are greyed out - this allows users to establish at a glance which assets have limitations on the type of change requests that can be submitted against them.
- The existing change requests on the Change requests page are sorted according to their creation date, in a descending manner.
Case metrics updates
- The case statuses within the application match the support statuses in IBM's My Support portal, providing users with a unified experience across IBM support platforms.
- The Case History table now allows filtering and applied filters can be edited, disabled or deleted.
Chatbot development
- The chatbot can now address user inquiries regarding the SI inventory change request processes and OMM migration.
- The change request submission section of the chatbot includes a video tutorial, demonstrating visually to users the steps they need to take to create a change request.
General enhancements
- The IBM Z-assets contract data has been augmented with the inclusion of IBM Call Home details and insights.
- The welcome mails now include the user's assigned role and client name.
- The asset details page's Coverage section contains a service line items table, where users can view contracts relating to the particular asset - including both current and future contracts. The table's contents are exportable for a smoother contract management.
