Release notes - June 2023
As IBM Support Insights continues to evolve, here are the details of the application's current progress.
Fixed issues and upgrades
Following is a list of improvements and new implementations in the application.
Inventory and coverage improvements
- The Asset details view is now improved with the introduction of three customer-related tabs - Installed at, Sold to and Bill to - in the Customer Information tile. The tabs include both the customer name and the customer number details.
- Contract numbers are now available in the asset tables in the application's Inventory management page. Please note , only the current contract number of each asset is displayed in the new table column, and Support Insights treats add-on/extension contracts as separate contract entities.
- Expert Care is now also part of the coverage calculations and algorithm, thus improving the entitlement, maintenance and warranty acuity.
Firmware and coverage risks refinement
- IBM Call Home data is now included in the firmware risk and alerts calculating and generating process, adding up to an enhanced apprehension of End-of-Support device risks.
- Assets running the AIX OS are now also included in the application's algorithms for calculating risks, as well as security and hardware lifecycle analyses (PRO features).
General enhancements
- The Global filtering options list is now further enhanced with the addition of custom properties to filterable options, as well as customer-related properties, namely Sold to customer, Sold to customer number, Bill to, and Bill to customer number.
- The application's Case History table, located on the Case metrics page now has the capability to load all available support cases for the required period - the limitation of showing only less than 20,000 cases is now handled and disabled. However, please allow for more processing time when viewing high volumes of support cases.
Known issues and limitations
Following is a list of usability constraints or challenges in the current version of the application.
| Area | Issue | Workaround |
|---|---|---|

| Inventory management - Asset details | Priority is not displayed for some hardware components. | To be fixed in a future release. |
| Risks & Recommendations - General | Some OS/Firmware alerts might be missing if multiple data collection methods are used. | To be fixed in a future release. |
| Risks & Recommendations - Security & Hardware lifecycle | Sorting by Vendor notice risk results in an error message. | You can export the data and apply a sort in the downloaded file. |
| Risks & Recommendations - Security & Hardware lifecycle | The asset details table filtering capability does not allow for editing filters. | Remove your current filter and apply a new one. |
| Risks & Recommendations - Security | User (de)selection on the bar chart is visually cleared if the user leaves the page and comes back. | To be fixed in a future release. |
| Risks & Recommendations - Security | The summary table is currently sorted by Product family. | To be fixed in a future release. |
| Risks & Recommendations - Security | Assets with 0 security risk are currently shown as having 1 security alert in the asset details table. | To be fixed in a future release. |
| Risks & Recommendations - Hardware lifecycle | The chart's months distribution is misaligned visually. | To be fixed in a future release. |
| Administration - Users | Users with an apostrophe in their names cannot be added. | Add the user by manually removing the apostrophe. |
