Release notes - May 2023

As IBM Support Insights continues to evolve, here are the details of the application's current progress.

Fixed issues and upgrades

Following is a list of improvements and new implementations in the application.

Pro client functionalities

  • The asset details table on the Security page of the application now allows for filtering its contents, as well as selecting a subset of assets and exporting only the details of the selected subset.
  • The asset details table on the Hardware lifecycle page of the application now also supports selecting and exporting a subset of assets, as well as filtering the contents of the table.

Global filters updates

  • The Global filtering experience is now further augmented, with the addition of four new data points available for selection - Service name, Service type, Installed at customer, Installed at customer number.
  • The behavior of the Global inventory box is now updated and connected to whether or not a global filter is applied. When a global filter is applied, the global inventory box now shows the count of selected assets, and when the filter is removed, the label is reverted to total assets.

General improvements

  • The Global inventory box labels are now updated accordingly depending on the client's inventory source. Cisco clients will see Added / Removed labels in the box, whereas non-Cisco clients will see Added this month / Removed this month.
  • The exportable files within the application are now all in an updated format - .xlsx - providing a smoother handling of file contents, as the new file type supports data formatting and visual formatting.
  • The count of downloadable assets in a single exported file is now no longer limited - any inventory size can be exported within the application. Please note , exporting a selection of over 20,000 assets requires significant processing time.
  • The Export services downloadable file is enhanced with the addition of new customer-related data points, namely Sold to, Bill to, and Installed at (example new data points: Bill to customer name / Bill to customer number).
  • Any applied viewing preferences in the application's Inventory pages are now maintained throughout the user's session. This includes (de)selections made in the View assets by, Coverage expiration, Coverage status, and Change status tables.
  • The legacy Changes page view is now fully sunset, as all clients are fully migrated to the new view.
  • The Cases table on each asset's details page is no longer limited to displaying only the most recent 20 service requests relating to the asset - you can now view all the asset's support cases made available to you. Please note , the covered support cases time-frame is dependent on your case metrics subscription level.
  • Relative risk scores calculations are now further improved, with the implementation of refined calculations. Please note , this may lead to a fluctuation in the risk scores following the implementation of the current application version. If observed, such a change will be due to formula modifications, not a change in the inventory's exposure.

Known issues and limitations

Following is a list of usability constraints or challenges in the current version of the application.

Area Issue Workaround
Inventory management - Asset table Priority is not displayed for some hardware components. To be fixed in a future release.
Case metrics - Premium metrics The Case History table shows a There is no data error message if there are too many support cases (over 20,000). You can apply a local page filter and view batches of all the available support cases.
Risks & Recommendations - General Some OS/Firmware alerts might be missing if multiple data collection methods are used. To be fixed in a future release.
Risks & Recommendations - Security & Hardware lifecycle Sorting by Vendor notice risk results in an error message. You can export the data and apply a sort in the downloaded file.
Risks & Recommendations - Security & Hardware lifecycle The asset details table filtering capability does not allow for editing filters. Remove your current filter and apply a new one.
Risks & Recommendations - Security The summary table is currently sorted by Product family. To be fixed in a future release.
Risks & Recommendations - Security Assets with 0 security risk are currently shown as having 1 security alert in the asset details table. To be fixed in a future release.
Risks & Recommendations - Hardware lifecycle The chart's months distribution is misaligned visually. To be fixed in a future release.
Administration - Users Users with an apostrophe in their names cannot be added. Add the user by manually removing the apostrophe.
Administration - Users Bulk users load cannot be performed with mix-case e-mail IDs. Make sure all e-mail IDs in the template are lower-case.
