Release notes - June 2022
Fixed issues
Following is a list of improvements and new implementations in the application.
Searching inventory, cases, and documents
- Searching within Inventory management and its sections' tables is now functional and search results are maintained across user interactions within the tables themselves.
- Searching is now enabled in the table that contains the client’s Case history.
- Searching is now enabled in the table that contains the client’s TSA reports.
Sorting inventory
- Sorting is now enabled in the main asset table and is persisted across the user’s interactions within the same application session.
- Sorting is now enabled in both the initial Coverage tab table and in the detailed table within the same section, which is opened when the user chooses a specific assets coverage category.
- Sorting is now functional in the assets table in the Changes tab.
Filtering with confidence
- Filtering within the main assets table now works based on all available criteria, including risk categories (wherever data is available) and serial number, and is persisted if the user leaves the page and returns to it afterwards within the same web session.
- Multiple filters can be applied to the application’s inventory tables, namely the main asset table, the Coverage tab table and the Changes tab table, and can be edited without mutual interference.
- Filtering is now functional in the detailed Coverage tab table, returning the exact filtered number of items within a chosen category, as opposed to the entire count of items in the category.
- When a global filter is applied from the Coverage tab of the inventory section or from the Changes tab of the inventory section – it is now active and applied on the main inventory tab, and effectively filters the Map, View assets by table and main asset table.
- Global filters applied anywhere in the application are applied accordingly and consistently across all the application’s sections.
- Global filters are persisted in the interface when switching between the application’s sections, making it possible for the user to filter a subset of data while on one page and view only the details associated to the same data subset with a single filter application.
- The Global filters list of criteria is modified, having Item type removed and making room for Category , which is much more insightful, indicative and informative.
- Global filters carried over from previous user sessions now effectively filter all sections of the application.
- Applied Global filters now successfully limit the available options for local table filters.
Selecting assets for mass edit and export
- The Select all button in the header of the main asset table now selects the entire client’s inventory, thus enabling the user to simultaneously edit all assets.
General improvements
- Inventory map calculations are now improved – the total asset counts are consistent regardless of if the user is using the Geo or Country view and Circles or Charts view.
- The main asset table’s page size is now made consistent across user interactions – when the user chooses to view 30 or 50 items per table page, leaves the current section of the application and returns – the selection of viewing 30 or 50 items per page, respectively, remains applied.
- Inventory management table and Case metrics table column customizations applied by the user, such as visualizing an additional column and rearranging visible columns, are now persisted during the same application session.
- Items in the main asset table are now formatted in a more consistent and user-centered
manner, including risks scores being displayed as integers or having a risk score of
n/ashown where the data is not available. - The View assets by table text content is now truncated in the interface and does not overlap with the numbers content of the table, regardless of whether the user has selected the Charts or Circles view of the map from the map’s settings.
- The Global Inventory header is now formatted in a more comprehensive way, with decimal separators in place signaling the user when the asset count is over a thousand.
- The contents format of the Last changes column in the Changes tab has been updated to be consistent with the dates formatting of the other tables across the application.
- The contents of the non-default columns in the Changes inventory tab now populate accordingly, and the columns are filterable, sortable and searchable.
- When the user accesses a specific asset’s page via the table in the Changes tab of the Inventory section – the contents of the page are now populated accordingly. Additionally, the breadcrumbs leading back to the Changes tab table are also amended and functional.
- The Custom properties tab is now functional.
- The Cases section at end of the page is now renamed to Service requests (Cases), referencing the successful integration of IBM Support Insights with service request applications and platforms.
- Asset names are now made user-friendly – still easily distinguishable, but of shorter length.
Known issues
The following limitations and known issues apply to IBM Support Insights. Each known issue contains a description, some contain a currently available work-around.
| Area | Issue | Workaround |
|---|---|---|
| Inventory - Asset table - Export all | After filtering the asset table, clicking the
Export all
button triggers a download which contains the entire inventory rather than the filtered list
of assets. |
Apply similar filters when working with the exported file. |
| Inventory - Asset list - Sorting | When sorting the asset table, there is no visual representation of sorted column or the sort order. | To be fixed in a future release. |
| Inventory - Asset list - Edit and Global filter | When using the
Edit
dialogue to change an asset's properties, the newly saved values are not immediately available
in the Global filter options. |
Reload the page, or logout and login again, then the new values will appear as filtering options. |
| Inventory - Asset list - Edit picture | Using the
Edit
options to change an asset's picture does not currently save the picture. |
To be fixed in a future release. |
| Inventory - Coverage tab | Tag data is not populated in the asset table of the Coverage tab, hence sorting based on tags does not work in the table. | Use the table filter mechanism to find specific tags. |
| Risks & Recommendations - OS/Firmware | Some OS/Firmware alerts might be missing if multiple data collection methods are used. | To be fixed in a future release. |
| Risks & Recommendations - Affected inventory | Editing assets from the Affected Inventory list for an alert does not work. The
Edit
dialogue does not come up unless you navigate back to the Inventory Management section, where
it then appears but making changes using it does not affect any asset's properties. |
Edit asset details using the Inventory Management main asset table. |
| Administration - Users | Users with a mixed case e-mail address cannot be added. | Add the user by entering the e-mail address in lower case. |
