Power curve deviation loss

The Power curve deviation loss widget provides an analysis of energy deviations regarding a reference power curve for a selected turbine model over a specified date range. It consists of two main graphs: the Energy Deviation graph and the Power Curve graph. You can filter data by turbine model and specific turbines and select a reference curve for comparative analysis. The widget also supports interactions such as date range selection, full-screen view, and hover details for in-depth performance evaluation

Important: This widget is only for wind assets.

Energy deviation graph

The energy deviation graph is represented as a bar chart and its purpose is to display daily energy deviations for the selected turbine model and date range. The X-axis represents the days in the selected month, such as April 2023, while the Y-axis shows the energy deviation percentage. Blue bars indicate energy gains, and orange bars indicate energy losses. This visualization helps users identify daily performance variations quickly.

Power curve graph

The power curve graph is represented as a line chart and its purpose is to compare the power curves of selected turbines against a reference curve. The X-axis represents wind speed in meters per second (m/s), and the Y-axis represents power in kilowatts (kW). Multiple lines display the power curves for individual turbines, while the reference curve is shown as an orange dotted line. You can toggle the visibility of turbines that use check-boxes in the legend. When the best-performing turbine is selected, its name appears in the legend and tooltip.

Filters and interactions

The widget provides several filtering options. The model dropdown allows you to select a turbine model, such as V110. The turbine dropdown enables multi-selection of specific turbines or viewing all turbines. The reference curve dropdown offers options such as Standard Power Curve, Turbine Predicted Power Curve, and Farm Predicted Power Curve. You can also select a date range for analysis and switch to full-screen mode for a detailed view. Selecting a different reference curve updates the Power Curve graph while the Energy Deviation graph remains unchanged.

Reference curve selection

The reference curve is displayed as an orange dotted line in the Power Curve graph. Selecting a different reference curve updates the Power Curve graph to reflect the new comparison, while the Energy Deviation graph remains unchanged. The dropdown interaction allows you to switch between reference curve options, such as Standard Power Curve.

Turbine selection interaction

You can select specific turbines to include in the analysis that uses the turbine dropdown. This selection updates both graphs to reflect the performance of the chosen turbines. The legend on the right allows you to toggle the visibility of individual turbine's power curves, enabling focused analysis.

Full-screen view

The widget supports a full-screen mode for detailed analysis. In this mode, both graphs are displayed one below the other, allowing you to scroll through the data. The Energy Deviation graph appears at the top, followed by the Power Curve graph. Hovering over bars or lines displays detailed information about the data points. The three-dot icon provides options to download data and images in CSV or PNG format

Key interactions

You can filter data by turbine model and specific turbines, select different reference curves for comparison, and adjust the date range for analysis. The legend allows toggling the visibility of turbines in the Power Curve graph. Full-screen mode provides an enlarged view for presentations and detailed analysis. Hover interactions display precise data values for both graphs.

Calendar behavior

By default, the widget selects the last 30 days. When the calendar opens, it highlights the last 30 days from the current date. Users can select a single day, a month, a year, or a custom date range. The X-axis and Y-axis adjust dynamically based on the selection:

  • Day: X-axis shows days; Y-axis shows energy variance and active power.
  • Month: X-axis shows days in the selected month.
  • Year: X-axis shows the months from January to December.
  • Custom Range: Allows selecting a start and end date across months.s
