Technical details

Use the Technical details step to define the plant’s electrical configuration, operational parameters, communication protocol, and generation forecast information.

About this task

Technical details describe how the plant is configured electrically and how operational data is collected and interpreted in IBM® Maximo® Renewables. This information is used to calculate performance metrics, enable forecasting and analytics, and support device mapping and validation in later onboarding steps. The fields displayed in this step depend on the selected plant domain and communication protocol.

Procedure

  1. In the Technical details step, enter the AC capacity (MW) and DC capacity (MWp) of the plant.
  2. Select the Installation type, Domain subtype, Project type, Technology type, and Mounting type, as applicable.
  3. Enter the Tilt angle (degrees) and Azimuth angle (degrees) for the plant layout.
  4. Specify the Plant commission date and, if required, enter a Reference code.
  5. Select the Data interval at which plant data is collected.
  6. Select the Communication protocol used for data ingestion, such as FTP or API.
  7. Indicate whether Curtailment is in effect.
  8. Enter the Maximum active power limit, if applicable.
  9. Enter the Temperature coefficient of PMAX, Minimum irradiance (W/m²), and CO₂ emission factor values.
  10. Specify the Operation start time and Operation end time for the plant.
  11. In the Plant generation forecast section, upload a forecast file or enter forecast values. If P50 data is not available, upload an equivalent expected value. This data is used for expected versus actual performance analysis.
  12. Optional: Upload supporting technical documents, such as AC and DC single-line diagrams, SCADA system layouts, or a PV generation simulation report. Supported file type is PDF. The maximum file size is 25 MB per file.
  13. Click Next to continue to the Devices step.
