Installing the CDC Replication Engine for FlexRep using an interactive installation (Linux)
You can use the interactive install to install the CDC Replication software on a server. If you have X-Windows installed, the installation program will launch the configuration tool in a graphical environment.
Before you begin
Note the following before you install or upgrade IBM® Data Replication - CDC Replication software on Linux®:
- Do not install or upgrade IBM Data Replication - CDC Replication as a root user.
- The installation directory requires file system permissions of
700if you plan to use the same user account to install the product, create and configure instances, or upgrade the product. - The installation directory requires file system permissions of
770if you plan to use different user accounts to install the product, create and configure instances, or upgrade the product.
Procedure
What to do next
After you have successfully installed the software on a server, you need to create your instances. Each instance that you create is a separate replication engine and is seen by Management Console as a datastore.
Note: Ensure that the installed version of the Management Console and Access Server applications
are either the same version as the replication engine or a later version.
