Upgrading the software to 11.2.1.9 or earlier

Deployment options: Netezza Performance Server for Cloud Pak for Data System

If you are upgrading to 11.2.1.9 or earlier, learn how to upgrade the Netezza Performance Server software.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the container as nz user.
  2. Run the upgrade command with su -c option to have root privileges. 
    su -c "/nz/kit.11.2.X.X/sbin/nzupgrade -f upgrade"
    Replace 11.2.X.X with your release version.
    For example:
    su -c "/nz/kit.11.2.1.0/sbin/nzupgrade -f upgrade"
    When prompted for password, type the root user's password.

What to do next

  1. If you upgrade from 11.0.X to 11.2.X.X, you must upgrade the dependent artifacts with the corresponding 11.2.X.X release.   2. If you upgrade from 11.0.X to 11.2.X.X, you must recompile the UDXs. See the instructions that are described in Recompiling UDXs and reregistering IBM Fluid Query.
  3. Optional: Reinstall third-party software.
