Prerequisites for backups and restores on IBM Cloud

Deployment options: IBM Netezza Appliance

Before you can do backups and restores on, complete the prerequisites.

Procedure

  1. Create a Cloud Object Storage Instance.

    For more information, see IBM Cloud Object Storage.

  2. In the Cloud Object Storage instance, create a bucket for backups.
    Click Create Bucket and follow the prompts to create a bucket.

    You can choose Standard or Custom one.

  3. After the bucket is created, create Service credentials to access the bucket.

    For more information, see IBM Cloud Object Storage.

  4. Make sure to note the HMAC Access information, and the endpoint information for the bucket.
    This is necessary for backup and restore.
    • You can obtain the HMAC Access Information from the Service Credentials.
    • You can obtain the endpoint from the Endpoint menu for the Cloud Object Storage that you provisioned.
