Upgrading the IBM Content Assistant plug-in for Content Navigator

You can configure your IBM® Content Navigator environment to use the latest version of the IBM Content Assistant plug-in.

Before you begin

The steps discussed in the procedure assume that you already have a working instance of the IBM Content Assistant plug-in for your Navigator environment.

Before you update the Content Assistant plug-in, make sure that you have access to the Navigator web application server where you plan to extract the updated version of the Content Assistant (fncm-genai-version-n-YYYYMMDDTTTT.zip) package.

Procedure

  1. For non-containerized IBM Content Navigator deployments, stop the plug-in web application.
  2. Download and extract the latest version of the Content Assistant package to a secure location locally.
  3. Log in to the IBM Content Navigator administration console.
  4. On the IBM Content Navigator directory, click Plug-ins.
  5. Select the IBM Content Assistant plug-in.
  6. Click Edit.
  7. Click Choose Files.
  8. Select the local genaiPlugin.jar that you extracted from the Content Assistant package.
    Important: Make sure that you use the genaiPlugin.jar from the latest Content Assistant package that can be downloaded from the IBM Content Assistant Dashboard.
  9. Click Upload.

    The JAR file path is updated automatically to the Upload File Path specified. If it did not, enter the full path to genaiPlugin.jar. This includes the path specified in Upload File Path.

  10. Click Load.
  11. Click Save and Close.
  12. Restart the Content Navigator pod or the web application depending on your deployment type.
