Accessing the watsonx ad hoc summary for your document selection

For an object store, you can access the watsonx ad hoc summary for one or multiple documents that are selected within a subfolder.

About this task

The watsonx ad hoc summary provides a brief explanation and an overview of the contents for all the documents in your selection. You can generate summaries for any documents in your selection, including unindexed or newly uploaded documents that are yet to be indexed.

Note: You can generate a single watsonx ad hoc summary for a maximum of 100 documents from your selection.

Procedure

Log in to IBM® Content Navigator by using your credentials.

Note: Use only HTTPS connection to access the IBM Content Navigator when the Content Assistant plugin is installed.
Go to the object store where you want to use the Content Assistant.
Select the subset of documents in your repository for which you want to generate a watsonx ad hoc summary.
- Option 1 - Click Browse and select one or multiple documents in the object store.
- Option 2 - Select an existing search or Click Search > New Search in the IBM Content Navigator console.
Click the icon on the Content Navigator web console.
The Content Assistant opens.
Use the Content Assistant to generate a watsonx ad hoc summary for the selected document content.
1. Click the icon.
2. From the Actions section, click Please summarize these selected documents or Please summarize the selected document.
  The Content Assistant generates an overview and a brief explanation for one or multiple documents in your selection.
