Known issues and limitations

Get a quick overview of the known issues and limitations for IBM® Content Assistant.
The following are the limitations of the IBM Content Assistant:
  • The ibm/slate-125m-english-rtrvr-v2 embedding model, which is the default model for indexing in IBM Content Assistant Client Managed Software, is deprecated. The deprecated ibm/slate-125m-english-rtrvr-v2 model will be removed from watsonx.ai after August 8, 2026.
    Important: If you have existing indexes created with the ibm/slate-125m-english-rtrvr-v2 model, you must re-create them using intfloat/multilingual-e5-large before August 8, 2026. After this date, the deprecated model will no longer be available on watsonx.ai and existing indexes using this model will stop working.
