Introduction to DNS Insights
DNS Insights is an advanced DNS and network observability solution within IBM NS1 Connect®. Available as an add-on feature, it provides observability tools to help you better understand DNS traffic and network events within your Managed DNS network and, if applicable, your single-tenant Dedicated DNS network. DNS Insights is also available for Managed China DNS network on accounts with Managed China enabled.
Using the DNS Insights dashboard
Use the DNS Insights dashboard to monitor DNS traffic activity across your Managed DNS and Dedicated DNS networks. You can analyze DNS query trends, investigate DNS response behavior, identify unusual traffic patterns, and review traffic activity across domains, resolvers, geolocations, and NS1 Connect points of presence (PoPs).

DNS Insights collects a variety of DNS and network related metrics for DNS traffic monitoring and analysis.
Using external integrations with DNS Insights
While the DNS Insights dashboard does not require external integrations, you can optionally configure data sinks to export DNS Insights metrics to supported time series databases (TSDBs) and visualize the metrics in your preferred visualization tools.
