Cloning a monitoring job

All the information from an existing monitoring job can be used to create a different monitoring job that you can customize and attach notifier lists to.

Before you begin

  • Your user or team permissions are set to allow you to create monitoring jobs.
  • Your user or team permissions are set to allow you to manage lists if you want to attach a notifier list.
  • A notifier list exists if you are attaching a notifier list to the monitoring job.

About this task

Cloning a monitoring job replicates the same settings as creating a monitoring job, allowing you to efficiently duplicate and modify monitoring configurations.

As the settings in the monitoring job are the same whether you clone or create a new monitoring job, you can refer to the Creating a monitoring job topic if you need more context.

Procedure

  1. Click Monitors.
  2. On the Monitoring page, locate the monitoring job that you want to clone.
    You can use the filter options to narrow the search results by the monitoring job name or by the type of monitoring job.
  3. Click the overflow menu and select Clone.
  4. Change the name of the monitoring job.
  5. Change the monitoring job settings or the notification settings.
