Support for Squarespace customers
IBM® NS1 Connect® is the DNS provider for many domains purchased through Squarespace; however, the platform cannot make DNS-related changes on behalf of Squarespace customers.
Contact Squarespace directly for information about your domain. If you registered the domain through Squarespace, you can access advanced DNS settings in the Domains panel when logged in to the Squarespace platform.
Refer to the following frequently asked questions:
- What is the relationship between Squarespace and NS1 Connect?
- Squarespace's DNS infrastructure is powered by the NS1 Connect platform. For Squarespace customers, this means faster websites that are globally accessible.
- How can I tell if NS1 Connect is the authoritative DNS operator for my domain?
- Using a dig or whois query, you can identify the
authoritative DNS provider for your domain. Windows users can visit whatsmydns.net and select
NS from the drop-down menu. Mac or Linux users can open the Terminal
application and run one of the following: commands.
To use the dig, copy the the following command, replacing
example.comwith your domain.$ dig example.com +short nsThe response includes a list of the authoritative nameservers delegated to the domain. For example,
dns2.p07.nsone.net. dns3.p07.nsone.net. dns4.p07.nsone.net. dns1.p07.nsone.net.
Alternatively, you can use the whois command, replacing
example.comwith your domain.$ whois example.comThe format of the response varies depending on the top-level domain (TLD), but it includes the same content as the dig response.
NS1 Connect nameservers are authoritative if the hostnames end with
nsone.netlike the example response above. Any other hostname indicates that NS1 Connect is not the authoritative DNS provider for the domain. - How does this affect my domain registration with Squarespace?
-
While Squarespace leverages NS1 Connect on the back end, the default nameservers for your domain reflect the ones that Squarespace originally assigned to you. The partnership between Squarespace and NS1 Connect has no impact on your domain registration with Squarespace.
