Web GUI database tables
When operating in a load balancing cluster, a database holds the configuration information for propagating to all nodes in the cluster.
ncwDataSourceDefinitions.xml reference
To change the configurations that control how the Web GUI receives events from data sources, modify the ncwDataSourceDefinitions.xml configuration file that is in WEBGUI_HOME/etc/datasources. The file structure must conform to the content of the Web GUI configuration Document Type Definition (DTD). The elements and attributes that are in the DTD are described here.
server.init properties
The environmental and server session properties of the Web GUI server are stored in the WEBGUI_HOME/etc/server.init initialization file. This file is an ASCII initialization file that can be edited directly and is read on server startup.
Invalid characters in filters, views, and tools
You cannot use certain characters in the names of any Web GUI objects, such as filters, views, or tools. You also cannot create filters, views, or tools with spaces in the name.
SmartPage commands and templates
You can use SmartPage commands to populate Web pages that are served by the Web GUI. You can also use variables in SmartPage commands to dynamically populate predefined template files.
URLs for opening Web GUI widgets
Information on how to build the URLs for launching Web GUI widgets is provided here. The URL opens a Web GUI widget in a Dashboard Application Services Hub page. You can launch from internal applications, such as Web GUI maps, from external applications, or from links generated by script tools or a CGI tools.
Sample URLs for launch-in integrations
Use these examples to help you build a URL for launching Web GUI widgets from a URL. These URLs do not launch the widgets in the current Dashboard Application Services Hub session. Instead, they open in a new browser window or tab. So they are useful for launching Web GUI widgets in pop-windows, or within another application, such as a portal.
