Specifying which historical poll data periods to store

By default, Network Manager stores historical poll data in daily, weekly, monthly, and annual time periods. You can turn off storage of historical poll data for any of these periods.

To turn off storage of daily, weekly, monthly, or annual historical poll data, perform the following steps.

  1. Edit the properties file for the Storm topology using a text editor such as vi.
By default, the Apache Storm topology takes the name NMStormTopology and uses a properties file named NMStormTopology.properties.
    vi $NCHOME/precision/storm/conf/NMStormTopology.properties
  2. Find one of the following properties in the file, and set it to 0, to turn off storage of historical poll data for the corresponding time period.
    ewma.day.storage.enabled
Set to false to switch off storage of daily historical poll data
    ewma.week.storage.enabled
Set to false to switch off storage of weekly historical poll data
    ewma.month.storage.enabled
Set to false to switch off storage of monthly historical poll data
    ewma.year.storage.enabled
Set to false to switch off storage of yearly historical poll data
  3. Save the file.
  4. Restart the Apache Storm topology.
