Use the command-line interface to administer poll policies.

Use the get_policies.pl program to copy your poll policies from one network domain to another, or between a file and a domain.

Adjusting polling bandwidth
You can configure how much data is transferred by the Polling engine, ncp_poller, and how often. You might want to adjust polling bandwidth to avoid network congestion or to reduce the impact of large numbers of polling events occurring simultaneously.
Configuring Link State polling
You can specify how the ncp_poller process determines the initial state for Link State polls when there is no existing event.
Retrieving the number of monitored entities
Use the monitoredEntities.py Python script to retrieve the number of monitored entities.
Configuring ping data
You can configure chassis ping polls to retrieve the timestamp of the first ping failure, when a Chassis Ping Fail alert is generated, after the configured number of retries are completed.
