Accessibility features for Network Manager
Accessibility features help users who have a disability, such as restricted mobility or limited vision, to use information technology products successfully.

Network Manager uses IBM Installation Manager to install the product. You can read about the accessibility features for IBM Installation Manager at https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSDV2W/im_family_welcome.html.
Network Manager uses the latest W3C Standard, http://www.w3.org/TR/wai-aria/, to ensure compliance to http://www.access-board.gov/guidelines-and-standards/communications-and-it/about-the-section-508-standards/section-508-standards), and http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20/. To take advantage of accessibility features, use the latest release of your screen reader in combination with the latest web browser that is supported by this product.
Keyboard navigation
This product uses standard navigation keys.
Interface information
- All non-text content used in the GUI has associated alternative text.
- Low-vision users can adjust the system display settings, including high contrast mode, and can control the font sizes using the browser settings.
- Color is not used as the only visual means of conveying information, indicating an action, prompting a response, or distinguishing a visual element.
- The Network Manager user interfaces do not have content that flashes more than two times in any one second period.
The Network Manager web user interface includes WAI-ARIA navigational landmarks that you can use to quickly navigate to functional areas in the application.
Accessibility and the GUI
The Network Views (in layouts other than the Tabular layout), as well as the Network Hop View, Path Views GUI, Fault-Finding View, and Device View are not accessible. For accessibility, use the Network Views or Network Health View in tabular layout.

In several locations in the GUI, including the Path View Administration GUI, Path Views GUI, Poll Policy Editor, Top Performers widget, Structure Browser, Network Views, Network Health View, Network Hop View, Device View, and Fault-Finding View, the toolbar can split onto multiple lines if the GUI is zoomed in. The toolbar can be configured to display on one or multiple lines by changing the following property in the Event Viewer: and then logging out and logging in again. This setting takes effect for the current user only.
If you use the browser zoom function to make the Network Health View or Network Views display larger, press the Zoom to fit or Fit in window button to ensure that the topology view resizes appropriately in the canvas.
Extra steps to configure Internet Explorer for accessibility
If you are using Internet Explorer as your web browser, you might need to perform extra configuration steps to enable accessibility features.
To enable high contrast mode, complete the following steps:
- Click .
- Select all the check boxes in the Formatting section.
If clicking does not increase the font size, click Ctrl + and Ctrl -.
Extra steps to configure Microsoft Edge for accessibility
If you are using Microsoft Edge as your web browser, you might need to perform extra configuration steps to enable accessibility features.
To enable Edge Chromium High Contrast Mode, complete the following steps:
- Launch Edge Chromium browser and visit this address: edge://flags/#forced-colors.
- Use the drop-down to change the settings from Default to Enable.
- Click Restart button available on the bottom right corner to apply the changes.
