Preview IBM Envizi Emissions API
Get accurate and verifiable greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions calculations with IBM® Envizi Emissions API. Envizi Emissions API simplifies compliance, reduces manual calculation effort, and enables scalable emissions reporting that is aligned with standards. You don’t need technical skills to use Envizi Emissions API. Nontechnical users can work entirely in Microsoft Excel with the add‑in and optional template. Developers can directly integrate with the API to post activity datasets as JSON payloads and programmatically retrieve validated calculation results through structured responses.
You can use Envizi Emissions API in two ways:
- If you are a nontechnical user, you can install an add-in and optionally download a template.
When the add-in is installed, you open Microsoft Excel
and add data such as fuel type, unit, and country. IBM
Envizi Emissions Calculations in
Excel calculates
all your emissions for you, saving you time and effort. To get started, see Getting started for Excel users. Watch this short video to get an overview of IBM

- If you are a technical user, such as a developer, you can use the API directly to fulfill your
business needs. You can submit operational data, such as heating usage, refrigerant leaks, or fleet
fuel consumption, in JSON format. The API then applies relevant emissions factors based on the
robust Factor Selection Algorithm (FSA) in Envizi ESG Suite and returns
exportable and verifiable results. To get started, see Get started for API users. Watch this short video to get an overview of using the
