System security

During setup, an IBM® customer profile is created for you. The profile contains your mailslot IDs and passwords.

CAUTION: If your mailslot ID or password is incorrect, B2B Integration SaaS denies access to your mailslot. Although your password alone does not grant access to B2B Integration SaaS or your data, never reveal your mailslot ID or password to your business partners or other unauthorized people.
  • The types of documents each mailslot is authorized to send and receive.
  • The data formats and versions you use to send and receive data.

Each time you send and receive data, your data is checked against your profile information. B2B Integration SaaS checks your data to ensure that the correct format and, if applicable, the correct data element separators and segment terminators are used. If the correct formats are not followed or if the document is not an authorized type, the document is rejected.

Your password can be encrypted to provide additional protection. Contact Customer Support to request password encryption.
