- Which protocols are deprecated?
- FTP connections and HTTP/1.0 support for AS2 are deprecated.
- Why are the protocols removed?
- In the absence of any encryption, the protocols create security risks and might expose sensitive data. Also, the protocols are now obsolete.

- It is recommended to perform the following.
- Review current FTP and AS2 configurations.
- Validate that all systems support HTTP/1.1 or higher.
- Initiate migration planning and testing by creating a support case on the IBM Support Portal .

- All customers of IBM Sterling Data Exchange, and their customers and trading partners that currently use FTP or AS2 over HTTP/1.0 are impacted.
- What are the alternatives
- Migrate to the following alternatives.
- AS2 over HTTP/1.1 or higher
- OFTP2
- SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol)
- Is there a cost or financial impact associated with the migration?
- As part of IBM’s secure protocol roadmap, the migration support is covered. Also, standard migration is covered under your existing subscription.
