Functional ID
The data standard used determines the functional ID or message type found in
the data. For example, for the ANSI X12 and the UCS standards, the functional ID is
taken from the functional group header segment of the data. In addition, for the UN/EDIFACT and
TRADACOMS standards, the functional ID represents the message type. The following table contains the
location of functional IDs identifying the group or message type:
