View Data page
The View Data page contains EDI data for a specified batch.
The View Data page is accessible in the following ways:
- By clicking on the batch number from the Outbox Detail, Outbox Batch Detail, Search View, Document Outbox View, Inbox View, or Document Inbox View pages.
- By clicking on the interchange control numbers and group types from the Outbox Detail, Outbox Batch Detail, Search, Document Outbox (for Document Visibility customers) and Document Search (for Document Visibility customers).
- By clicking on the document type on Document Inbox (for Document Visibility customers) and Document Search (for Document Visibility customers).

accessing the View Data page.
Use the View Data page to do the following tasks:
- Access batch detail information for the specified records within the interchange.
- Check for transmission errors.
- View information in EBCDIC or ASCII format.
- View information with Hex on or off.
- Download information that appears on the View Data page. Depending on the view from which you
arrived on the View Data page, this could be all of the inbound data, a particular inbound
interchange, a particular inbound group, a particular inbound document, or an outbound interchange.
The Sterling Document Tracking Outbox views allow downloads for the entire batch,
interchange, group, or document. Inbox views can only view and download the entire
batch.Note: Sterling Document Tracking has a data size limit for downloads. The amount of data in the inbound batch could be very large, especially if it is non-EDI data.
Data View Features:
- Depending on the view from which you access the View Data page, the View Data page will display either all of the inbound data, a specific inbound interchange, a specific inbound group, a specific inbound document, or an outbound interchange. The Document Tracking Outbox views allow downloads for the entire batch, interchange, group, or document. Inbox views can only view and download the entire batch.
- The View Data page allows the copying and pasting of data.
- The View Data page allows you to select download as wrapped or unwrapped.
- For EDI data, the default display is one segment per line separated by the EDI Segment
terminator. Note:
- There is a limit to the number of lines of data that will be displayed at one time.
- You may wrap segments that are longer than 80 bytes and display them in multiple 80 bytes
record. Wrap options are listed in a pull down window.
- “Character” Wrap at 1 byte separator.
- “Hex Character” Wrap at 2 bytes Hex value.
- “Line Length” Wrap at length specified by the user.
- "XML parsing”
- For non-EDI data, the default display is one block per line.
- Although it is possible to view batch information by record number for an interchange, you cannot view batches with the status Empty Batch or In Progress.
