Uploading modified production variant code list

If the code list type is set to contain different content in the CTE and production environments, you edit the production variant code list to use different content and then upload it. A company administrator (admin) can update the type setting for a code list.

Before you begin

You must first deploy the code list to the CTE environment.
Warning:

When you upload a code list, do not include personally identifiable information (PII) in the change description.

Procedure

  1. From the side navigation menu, select Company resources > Code lists. Then, on the Code lists page, select the code list that you want to edit.
  2. on the Work with production code list card, Download production code list section, download the production code list.
    Tip: The Work with production code list card is only displayed when the code list type is set to use different content in CTE and production.
    The production version of the code list is automatically downloaded in CSV format to your default folder.
  3. Edit the production code list. For more information, see Editing a code list. When the updates are complete, you upload the revised production code list.
    Important: Do not change the file name of the code list.
  4. On the Work with production code list card, click Select.
  5. Select the revised code list and click Open.
    Important: The revised production code list must use the original file name and .CSV file extension.
  6. In Change description, describe the changes that you made to the code list.
  7. Click Upload modified production code list to upload the modified production code list. Then, the code list can be deployed to production.

What to do next

You can now deploy your code list to production.

If you need to make more changes to the production code list later, you can return to the Work with production code list card to download and then upload the revised code list.
