Transferring PGP key edits

You can transfer a PGP key that you are editing to another user. The Transfer edit feature is available only when the status of your PGP key is work in progress. You can edit a PGP key only until it is pushed to production deployment.

About this task

You might need to use the Transfer edit feature in various scenarios. For example, you check out a PGP key to edit it, but need another user to complete the edit process. Or, if you are going out on a vacation, and would need some other user to complete the edit process.

Important: Only the owner of the PGP key can do transfer edit. However, with an appropriate user role, you can also transfer the PGP key edit of one user to another user within the same company. For example, IBM Support can transfer a PGP key edit from one user to another user within the same company. Or, a company administrator (admin) can transfer a PGP key that someone else checked out to edit.

Procedure

  1. From the side navigation menu, select Company resources > Keys and certificates. Then, on the PGP keys list page or the Trading partner PGP key list page, click the Action options menu for the PGP key edit you want to transfer. Alternatively, from the PGP key details page, click a PGP key name and select Transfer edit from the action ribbon.
Important: You can do transfer edit for only Private PGP keys within trading partners.
  2. In the Transfer edit window, use the Transfer edit drop down to search for and select another user within the same company.
  3. In the Reason for transferring the edit field, input your comments.
Note: It is mandatory to input comments. Unless you input the reason for transferring the edit, Transfer remains unavailable.
  4. Click Transfer.
The owner of the PGP key is now changed. To see the details, you can refer to the Owned by column from the details panel.
