Creating global control number configurations

Global Control Numbers are used as a way to have a shared control number across numerous envelopes.

About this task

To create a global control number, refer to the instructions.

Procedure

  1. From the side navigation menu, select Transformations > Envelopes.
  2. Click the Global control numbers tab.
  3. Click Add configuration.
  4. On the Add global control number configuration window, complete the following information.
    Business
Select the business from the drop-down list.
    Name
Enter the name of the global control number configuration.
    Description
    Enter your description.
  5. Click Add.
  6. On the CTE configurations page, input the following information.
    Sender ID
    Enter the sender identification number.
    Receiver ID
    Enter the receiver identification number.
Start value of global control number
The control number value is automatically set to 1.
    Hold locks until commit

Holding a lock until commit does not allow for any gaps in control numbers. However, selecting this checkbox slows down performance. Enable it only when you cannot have gaps in control numbers.

  7. In the Deploy to CTE section, input your comments and click Deploy to CTE.
  8. In the Test this configuration section, test the configuration for your global control number. Then, select the Yes check box.
  9. If your resource pertains to only the CTE, click Finish. Alternatively, to proceed to deploy the resource to the production environment, repeat step 6. Then, click Deploy to production.
