Global Control Numbers are used as a way to have a shared control number across numerous
envelopes.
About this task
To create a global control number, refer to the instructions.
Procedure
- From the side navigation menu, select
.
- Click the Global control numbers tab.
- Click Add configuration.
- On the Add global control number configuration window, complete the
following information.
- Business
- Select the business from the drop-down list.
- Name
- Enter the name of the global control number configuration.
- Description
- Enter your description.
- Click Add.
- On the CTE configurations page, input the following
information.
- Sender ID
- Enter the sender identification number.
- Receiver ID
- Enter the receiver identification number.
- Start value of global control number
- The control number value is automatically set to
1.
- Hold locks until commit

Holding a lock until commit does not allow for any gaps in
control numbers. However, selecting this checkbox slows down performance. Enable it only when you
cannot have gaps in control numbers.
- In the Deploy to CTE section, input your comments and click
Deploy to CTE.
- In the Test this configuration section, test the configuration for
your global control number. Then, select the Yes check box.
- If your resource pertains to only the CTE, click Finish.
Alternatively, to proceed to deploy the resource to the production environment, repeat step 6. Then,
click Deploy to production.
