Running map tests

If you use maps in Configuration Hub, the Map test tool provides functionality to test maps in the Configuration Hub user interface.

About this task

The Map test tool provides functionality so you can test a selected source map, compiled map, input file, and process data input file from the UI.

You also can view a list of the code lists that are associated with a specified map. If the map test passes, you can view the transformation test output file and process data output file. If the test fails, you can view the preceding items and also the transformation test report file.

Procedure

  1. Select Map test tool from the Configuration Hub side navigation menu.
  2. Optional: If there is more than one CTE business alias, select the business alias for which you want to test the map.
  3. Choose an environment for code lists associated with your map.
The map reads all code lists, if associated, from the environment you choose.
  4. Optional: If you want to test a source map, click Source map and select it. The supported source map file extension is .mxl.
Tip: You can download the map's associated process data input template and MRS document. You can also view a list of any code lists that are used in the map.
  5. Click Compiled map and select the appropriate compiled map.
  6. Click Input file and select the appropriate input file for the map.
  7. Optional: If the map uses process data, click Process data input file and select the appropriate process data input file.
  8. Click Run test to run the map test. The results are displayed on the Output side.

What to do next

Review the information on the Output side. You can view the quality review report if you selected a source map. For the transformation test, if the map test passes, you can view the transformation test output file and the process data output file (if process data was selected). If the test fails, you can view the preceding items and also the transformation test report file. You can also download the associated files from Output.
