Deploying a variant code list

A variant code list can be two different versions of the same code list that is deployed in CTE and production environments.

Before you begin

If you are creating a code list, select the Uses a different code list in CTE and production checkbox. For more information, see Creating a code list.

About this task

In an everyday business scenario, you might want to deploy a different version of the same code list in CTE and in the production environments. If such a need arises, use a variant code list.

Procedure

  1. From the side navigation menu, select Company resources > Code lists. Then, click the Action options menu for the code list, which you want to update.
    Note: The name for the code list must match with the name of the selected resource.
  2. For your selected code list, select Code list, and browse for and select your code list.
  3. In Change description, input comments.
  4. Click Upload.
  5. Click Deploy to CTE.
  6. Optional: Click Download production code list to download the last deployed production version of the code list for you.
  7. In Upload modified production code list, click Select to upload the modified code list.
  8. In Change description, input comments.
  9. Click Upload.
  10. Click Deploy to production.
