Accessing a code list version
You can access and download previous versions of code lists from the CTE and production environments.
Before you begin
From the side navigation menu, select Company resources and click Code lists. Then, on the Code lists page, after you select a code list, you can access versions of a code list that are older than the currently deployed code list. You can also download any previous version of a code list (including the minor code list versions available in the CTE environment). You can view the previously submitted comments about changes that were made to a code list so that you can understand the history of the code list.
- Live in production
- It indicates that the code list version is deployed in the production environment.
- Went to production
- It indicates that the code list version was previously promoted to production, but it is not the current version that is live in production.
- Currently in CTE
- It indicates that the code list version is now deployed in the CTE environment.
A minor (point) version of a code list is created in the CTE environment when you upload a revised version of the code list after the code list is successfully deployed to CTE. In this scenario, code list version 4.2 is created when you upload a revised code list after the code list version 4.1 was already deployed to CTE. A major version of a code list is created in the CTE environment when you check out a code list. In this scenario, a new code list version is created (5.1). Therefore, the code list version changes from 4.2 to 5.1 when the code list is checked out. The code list version number in the production environment matches the major version number of that same code list in the CTE environment.
The comma-separated values (CSV) file that is associated with a CTE code list version and a production code list version is also available for you to download.
- Code list type
- Describes whether the code list uses the same or different content in the CTE and production environments.
- Deployed to CTE
- The date and time that the code was deployed to CTE. Not displayed if the code list was not deployed to CTE.
- Deployed to production
- The date and time that the code list was deployed to production. Displayed only on the Production tab. Not displayed if the code list was not deployed to production.
- Modified by
- The user who was responsible for the modification that was made to the code list version.
- Checked out by
- The user who owns the code list check-out. Not displayed if the code list is not currently checked out or if the current code list version is not selected.
- Change description
- The description of changes that were made to the code list when it was uploaded.
- Code list assets

Any code list assets that are associated with a code list version are available for you to download.Tip: If no CTE code list CSV file is displayed for a code list version, that indicates that the code list version was checked out but not uploaded to CTE. If no Production code list CSV file is displayed for a code list version, that indicates that the code list version was not deployed to production.
- Production code list CSV file
- The code list that is currently running in production. If no Production code list CSV file is displayed for a code list version, that indicates that the code list version was not deployed to production.
- CTE code list CSV file
- The code list that is currently running in CTE. If no CTE code list CSV file is displayed for a code list version, that indicates that the code list version was checked out but not uploaded to CTE.
- Deploy to production
- Information that was provided about the deployment of this code list to production, if entered. Not displayed if a comment was not entered when the code list was deployed to production. Not displayed if the code list was not deployed to production.
