Getting started as an administrator

BTI administrators manage user accounts and data access for their company. Access BTI and then complete these steps.

Step 1: Create user groups in BTI

The first time you log in to BTI, your account does not have any data. You can add data to your account by going to User management. There, you create a user group, associate the user group with a business view, and add yourself to the group.

Step 2: Verify your data

After you add yourself to a user group, return to the dashboard and ensure that your data looks correct. Try searching for different trading partners and document types, and browse the document flows to check for inconsistencies or errors in your data.

Step 3: Enable other users

When you are ready to add other users to BTI, make sure that they have an account in B2Bi SaaS Hub, then give them access to BTI. After you grant them access in B2Bi SaaS Hub, users automatically populate in User management. From there, add each user to at least one user group so that they have data when they log in for the first time.

For more information, see Creating an account for another user.

Step 4: Customize document field mapping

BTI maps the data from your EDI documents to certain predefined fields. However, we know that not all business partners use the same mapping conventions, so you have the freedom to adjust the default mapping configurations to accommodate any such nuances. To do this, go to the Document configuration menu and upload your documents there. When you select the document type you want to configure, you can edit the Data location field, which indicates the field code in your document that stores your data. The Qualifier location and Qualifier value can contain additional information about your data field. For example, you might have a shipment date in your data location, with the code 038 to indicate the shipment should not happen later than the shipment date. The confidence level shows how sure BTI is of the configuration it picked for your document.
