Configuration

The inbound and outbound mapper processes use configuration setting to control the mapping process. To locate the appropriate configuration settings, a value category must be established. The category is taken from the channel PARAM setting for the mapper in effect. If the PARAM setting contains a 'CONFIG=???' specification, it is used as the value category; otherwise, a default value category is established.

As a general rule, different configurations are used for INBOUND and OUTBOUND processing. In this fashion, their properties can differ significantly as required.

Value entries should be modeled in the Rational® tooling so that meta-data describing the value entries can be installed into the database. The value entry meta-data in the database can also be reviewed and modified by the Financial Transaction Manager Operations and Administration Console. It is recommended that the Rational Model be used as the master copy of all configuration data.
