Data storage
Data storage includes protecting the PII and SPI data that is stored in the database and on the file system.
The following list shows the different middleware and Payment Feature Services components that have
security information that is related to the data storage security category.
- Control Center
- Used to configure and schedule the Services Framework tasks that purge data from the database.
- Database
- A database is used to store both configuration information and data that is being processed. To protect the data in the database, you might want to use Db2® native encryption.
- File system
- Transmissions that contain financial transactions are typically received and sent by using files on the file system. These files are either temporary intermediary files or are completed files that are stored in processed folders. In addition, Business Rules stores processing rule sets on the file system.
