Maximum file sizes and other restrictions

For FileAct file transfers, SWIFT supports file sizes up to 2 GB. For a FileReceived or DownloadFile scenario, you can determine and limit the maximum size of each file. Each of the following option sets contains a MaxFileSize option:
  • SAG communication option set
  • File receive option set
  • Download option set
During a FileReceived or DownloadFile scenario, an attempt to transfer a file is rejected if the size of that file exceeds either:
  • The value specified for the MaxFileSize option of the corresponding option set
  • The value specified for the MaxFileSize option of the SAG communication option set

Because an SAG can conduct per default at most 30 file transfers simultaneously, the MSIF transfer service postpones a file transfer that would cause the SAG to exceed 30 concurrent file transfers until some file transfers are concluded and the number of active file transfers falls below 30.

To increase the SAG limit of maximum concurrent file transfers contact SWIFT. Additional changes to MSIF are not required.
