FC ports
View the information that is shown about Fibre Channel (FC) ports in block storage systems.
The following information is shown for each FC port:
- Acknowledged
- Shows whether a user marked the status of a port as acknowledged. An acknowledged status indicates that the status was reviewed and is either resolved or can be ignored. An acknowledged status is not used when the status of related, higher-level resources is determined.
- Advertised B-B Credit
- The FC_Port Buffer-to-Buffer Credit as a number value. This value is the advertised buffer-to-buffer credit for the Fx_Port or Nx_Port for which diagnostic parameters are being processed. This column is shown for DS8000 storage systems only.
- Attached Port B-B Credit
- The attached FC_Port Buffer-to-Buffer Credit as a number value. This value is the advertised buffer-to-buffer credit that is received from the directly attached Fx_Port or Nx_Port. This column is shown for DS8000 storage systems only.
- Attached WWPN
- The worldwide port name of the attached port. This column is shown for DS8000 storage systems only.
- FEC status
- The forward error correction (FEC) status. This column is shown for DS8000 storage systems only.
- Last SFP Read time
- The last time that the SFP was read. This column is shown for DS8000 storage systems only.
- Location
- For DS8000, a code that represents the
physical location of a port within the hardware of a storage system. The location information is
shown in the following format:
For example, the location value R1-I4-C5-T3 corresponds to frame 1, I/O enclosure 4, host adapter 5, and port 3.frame - I/O enclosure - host adapter - portThe value for I/O enclosure is the number of the enclosure in the frame.
- Operating speed
- The current port operating speed, if it is set. If the link it not active, Inactive is displayed. This column is shown for DS8000 storage systems only.
- Protocol
- For DS8000, the Fibre Channel communication protocol that is used by the port, which determines the type of traffic that is transmitted. Each port on a DS8000 uses either the SCSI FCP (SCSI Fibre Channel Protocol) or FICON® (Fibre Connection) protocol.
- Rx Power
- The Rx power of the port. This column is shown for DS8000 storage systems only.
- Security
- The current security setting of an I/O port. This column is shown for DS8000 storage systems only.
- Speed (Gbps)
- The negotiated speed of a port.
- Status
- The status of a Fibre Channel port. Statuses include Normal, Warning, Error, and Unknown. Use the status to determine the condition of a port, and if any actions must be taken. For example, if a port has an Error status, take immediate action to correct the problem.
- Transceiver Supply Voltage
- The internally measured supply voltage of the transceiver. This column is shown for DS8000 storage systems only.
- Transceiver Temperature
- The internally measured temperature of the transceiver. This column is shown for DS8000 storage systems only.
- Type
- The port type. This column is shown for DS8000 storage systems only.
- Tx Power
- The Tx power of the port. This column is shown for DS8000 storage systems only.
- WWPN
- The World Wide Port Name (WWPN) of a port. A WWPN is the unique 64-bit identifier for a port in a Fibre Channel fabric.
