Fabrics overview page
The fabrics overview page is introduced in the new modern view of IBM Storage Insights, ensuring a consistent and contemporary look and feel across all IBM Storage Insights pages. This new interface offers a seamless user experience, eliminating the need to revert to the classic UI while providing enhanced visibility and functionality within a unified design framework.
To access the fabrics overview page, click the left Main menu, expand the Inventory section, and click Fabrics. Use this page to administer and monitor the configuration and status information collected about the fabrics in your storage environment.
Key features in the fabrics overview page:
- Health Status Indicators: Prominently displayed at the top of the grid, providing quick access to critical information.
- Fabric Properties: Click the three vertical dots menu at the end of each fabric row and select View properties to see detailed fabric properties and connectivity information.
- Fabric detail Page: Clicking on any fabric name in the Name column will open the fabric detail page in the classic UI.
- Ports detail Page: Clicking the count of the switch ports under the Switch ports column opens the ports detail page in the classic UI in a new browser window.
- Zone set detail Page: Clicking on any zone set in the Active zone set column will open the zone set detail page in the classic UI in a new browser window.
- Sorting, filtering, and column reordering are supported for all columns on the fabrics overview page.
- Adding fabric: Click Add fabric to add fabrics and monitor them in your IBM Storage Insights.
- Switches overview: Clicking the count of switches under the Switches column opens the switch overview page in the modern view.
- The Alerts tab in the classic view of the fabrics overview page is now presented as an Alerts column in the modern view.
- More than one Fabric can be selected at once. When you select a Fabric, the options, such as Add to general group, Remove, and Cancel gets enabled.
- You can see the three vertical dots menu at the end of each row in the table. The menu provides
the following options:
- View properties: Click the option to view the properties of fabrics. When you click the option, the properties window of the fabric opens.
- View alert definitions: Click the option to view the alert definition of the fabric. When you click the option, it opens the Alert Definitions page in the classic UI in a new window.
- Mark condition as Acknowledged/ Unacknowledged: Click the option to mark a condition as acknowledged or unacknowledged for the fabric. If the error is not acknowledged, users see the Mark condition as Acknowledged option. When a user clicks the Mark condition as Acknowledged, the error status is changed to Error Acknowledged. If the error is acknowledged, users see the Mark condition as Unacknowledged option.
- Launch fabrics GUI: Click the option to open fabrics GUI in a new browser window.
- Remove: Click the option to remove the fabric from IBM Storage Insights. When you click the option, a confirmation dialog appears. Click Remove to remove the fabric. To cancel the operation, click Cancel.
Note: The menu options are based on certain conditions and vary for different rows in the tabular view. For example, if the health status of a fabric is in the not monitored state, the View alert definitions and Mark condition as Acknowledged/ Unacknowledged options are not visible for the fabric.
