IBM Storage Insights Tenant overview dashboard
Learn about the dashboard features that you can use to monitor and optimize your storage environment.
The IBM Storage Insights Tenant overview dashboard is divided into following sections:

Tenant level summary
It provides the data across all block storage systems within a tenant, such as block storage health, capacity information, alerts including security alerts (if any), and other details. This holistic view of resource utilization aids in capacity planning and optimization. It provides the consolidated information of all the block storage systems that is added to the tenant.
| Menu item | Sub menu item | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Block storage | - | It displays the number of block storage devices. |
| Block Storage Health | - | Block Storage Health details the health condition of all the devices of the tenant in a pie chart. |
| Total Systems Capacity | Available Capacity | The amount of unused capacity in the storage system that is reserved for provisioning and optimization tasks. |
| Used Capacity | The percentage of physical capacity that is used, including overhead capacity. The value is always less than or equal to 100% because you cannot use more physical capacity than what is available. | |
| Total Capacity | The total capacity in the storage system. | |
| Host Capacity Mapping | Mapped Capacity | The total volume space in the storage system that is mapped or assigned to storage systems. |
| Unmapped Capacity | The total volume space in the storage system that is not mapped or assigned to storage systems. | |
| Alerts | - | The alert tiles displays the count of Critical, Warning, and Informational alerts for all block storage devices over the last 24 hours, along with their acknowledged status. |
| Ransomware Alerts | - |
Ransomware alerts indicate the total number of potential ransomware attacks across various IBM Storage Virtualize and IBM Storage FlashSystem products on the tenant. |
| Total Capacity Savings | Data Provisioned | Total capacity of all volumes that are created on the system, which includes volumes that are not mapped to hosts. |
| Data Reduction | It is used to reduce the amount of usable capacity that is required to store data. | |
| Total Savings | The total amount of usable capacity that is saved in a pool, system, or volume through thin-provisioning and data reduction techniques. This saved capacity is the difference between the used capacity and the total provisioned. |
| Menu item | Description |
|---|---|
| name | Name of the block storage system. |
| system_id | The storage system ID. |
| condition | The overall operational condition of a storage system. This condition represents the most critical status that was detected on the resource itself and on its internal resources. |
| model | The model number. |
| serial_number | The serial number of the block storage system. |
| type | The type of block storage system. |
| used_capacity | The percentage of physical capacity that is used, including overhead capacity. The value is always less than or equal to 100% because you cannot use more physical capacity than what is available. |
| available_capacity | The amount of unused capacity in the storage system that is reserved for provisioning and optimization tasks. |
| mapped_capacity | The total volume space in the storage system that is mapped or assigned to storage systems. |
| unmapped_capacity | The total volume space in the storage system that is not mapped or assigned to storage systems. |
| data_reduction_savings | It is used to reduce the amount of usable capacity that is required to store data. |
| provisioned_capacity | Total capacity of all volumes that are created on the system, which includes volumes that are not mapped to hosts. |
| capacity_savings | The total amount of usable capacity that is saved in a pool, system, or volume through thin-provisioning and data reduction techniques. This saved capacity is the difference between the used capacity and the total provisioned. |
| Menu | Description |
|---|---|
| name | The name of the internal resource. |
| system_id | The storage system ID. |
| volumes_count | It displays the number of volumes that are connected with the internal resource. |
| pool_count | It displays the number of pools that are connected with the internal resource. |
| Mdisks_count | It displays the number of Mdisks that are connected with the internal resource. |
| drives_count | It displays the number of drives that are connected with the internal resource. |
| fc_port_count | It displays the number of FC ports that are connected with the internal resource. |
| ip_ports_count | It displays the number of IP ports that are connected with the internal resource. |
| Menu | Description |
|---|---|
| alert_id | A unique number that is assigned to an alert. |
| resources | The storage resources where an alert condition was detected. Depending on where the alert was
detected, the following information is shown:
|
| alert_name | The name of the alert as defined by its creator. |
| condition | The condition on a resource that triggered an alert. |
| violation | If the alert was triggered by only one violation, this column shows the value of the attribute that was detected by the data collection. This value is compared against the triggering condition for the attribute to determine whether an alert is generated. If the alert was triggered by more than one violation, the value in this column is "Multiple". |
| severity | It determines the priority in which you resolve alerts. For example, critical alerts represent serious problems that were detected on a resource. The severity status includes critical, critical-acknowledged, warning, warning-acknowledged, informational, informational-acknowledged. |
| resource_type | It is storage resource types on which the alert got triggered. |
| category | Alerts are organized into the following categories:
The IBM Storage Insights Pro alert category relates to the server on which the product is installed. |
| occurence_time_utc | The date and time when the alert condition was detected on the storage resource. Alerts are
detected when data is collected about a storage resource. The timestamp value is
UTC. |
| system | The name of the storage resource where an alert condition was detected. Click the link to view more details about the resource. |
| alert_source | The alert policy, resource, application, or general group that contains the alert definition that triggered the alert. |
| occurences | The number of times the alert condition was detected on the storage resource. |
